On July 22, an honorary doctorate awarding ceremony was held at Georgian National University SEU Initiated by the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Anna Phirtskhalashvili and decided by the SEU Academic Council, the title of honorary doctorate was awarded to Dr. Kurt Deketelaere, a professor at the University of Leuven.
Prof. Deketelaere is an exceptional legal professional and an outstanding expert in the fields of EU research and sustainability as well as the Secretary General of the League of European Research Universities (LERU).
The event was attended by distinguished guests from various higher education institutions in Georgia. They spoke about the significant role Professor Deketelaere had played in fostering collaboration between Georgian and European researchers and promoting joint international projects.
This event emphasized Prof. Dr. Deketelaere’s exceptional contributions to the internationalization of Georgian National University SEU. Additionally, his expertise has significantly contributed to the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module Project - "The European Green Deal - Just Transition in Education," particularly in the areas of teaching and researching relevant topics.
