Why a towel?

The concept of the Proggy-Buggy Towel Contest is derived from Douglas Adams's book “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.” According to Adams, the towel is the most helpful item for an interstellar traveler and is useful in any problematic situation. That's why we organize The Towel Contest, celebrated worldwide every year on May 25th - Towel Day - as a tribute to the author Douglas Adams by his fans. It has become a tradition for participants to come to the May competitions with towels.


Here are the event details:

• Date: May 25th, 2024;
• Time: 10:00 UTC (the Earth's zero meridian).
  
  

Contest Rules:

• All participants will have access to the 13 problems of the Proggy-Buggy Towel Contest 2024 and 42 minutes to complete them.
• The problems will be officially available on May 25th. The contest will begin after the final countdown on the YouTube stream.
• Participants may write code in any programming language listed in the Programming Languages and Compilers section.
• During the contest, all communications must be in English to ensure everyone understands each other.
• Participants are only allowed to use information published before the start of the contest.
• Participants are not allowed to use support from coaches or third-party participants.
  
  

Who should participate?

This contest is open to only solo participants who enjoy tackling unsolved problems and pushing the boundaries of their coding abilities. We invite students, developers, testers, and all individuals with a passion for programming, an understanding of program development, and an appreciation for concepts like "console applications" and "standard input/output streams."

Locations:

The Contest is held online, but you can join from one of our DataArt offices worldwide. The list of locations will be published on the registration page about a month before the event.

Alternatively, you can host participants from [Location], and we'll assist you with all the necessary preparations to organize a HUB.
