On November 2, 2021, the British intellectual, genius of modern mathematics, Arran Fernandez hosted an open lecture for SEU students.

Arran is a British mathematician who became a Senior Wrangler at Cambridge University, at the age of 18. He is thought to be the youngest Senior Wrangler ever. Fernandez began studying the Cambridge Mathematics Tripos at the age of 15, he was the youngest Cambridge University undergraduate he broke the age record for gaining a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE), the English academic qualification usually taken at the age of 16, for which he sat the examinations aged five. In 2003 he became the youngest person ever to gain an A* grade at GCSE, also for Mathematics.

Arran shared his experiences with the participants, talked about achievements, and opportunities in education, and answered students' questions.
