On March 28, Georgian National University SEU will host a virtual public lecture by professor Reinhard Pauling on Georgia's European Future.
The following issues will be discussed:
- Status of relations between Georgia and the EU (the development up to the Association Agreement of 2016 and the new proposal for the period of 2021-2027);
- Article 49 TEU and the conditions for accession;
- Formal procedures of the accession process; role of the EU Commission, the Council and the European Parliament;
- The Copenhagen criteria for accession;
- Georgia’s application for accession in 2022; chances for accession

- 2015 - Scientific assistant to Mr. Droßmann, Member of the German Federal Parliament until today;
- 2005 - Vice-President of a Standing Committee of the EU-Commission in Brussels;
- 2002 - Secretary General of a German Industry Federation, responsible for representation of its European interests at the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg.
