SEU Business and Technology Faculty students won the second place at STEM Marathon

STEM Marathon was held on May 19, at Georgian National University SEU, which was organized by Georgian Students’ Organizations Association and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, with the support of LEPL Youth Agency and Tbilisi City Hall.

Students from various private and state universities throughout Georgia have participated in STEM Marathon.

The freshmen of the Programs in Information Technology and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of SEU: Zaal Chumburidze, Eter Kapanadze, Saba Lomsadze, Levan Jokhadze.

At STEM Marathon, our team presented a prototype of pancreas, which checks the level of sugar in the organism of persons with diabetes and upon necessity, it automatically infuses insulin. In order to implement this idea, 3000 GEL from the prize fund of STEM Marathon were given to our students.

Marathon jury:

Iro Tsagareishvili, managing director of Axel – Georgian Angel Investors Network. Iro has many years’ experience of working with startups, she has been a startup mentor, trainer and lecturer in the field of entrepreneurship for several years.

Lia Kurtanidze – associate professor at Georgian National University SEU, head of the 
Programs in Information Technology and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. 

Eralp Hatipoglu – entrepreneur, who has more than 10 years’ experience in sales, marketing and management at international level. Eralp is the co-founder of two successful companies and numerous enterprises. Currently, he works as a co-founder and executive director at Innovative Payment Solutions Startup CityPay.io.
