"European Green Deal - Just Transition in Education", Georgian National University SEU announces the selection of participants for the upcoming summer school on "European Green Deal - Legal Perspectives".

"The European Green Deal - Just Transition in Education" is an EU-funded Jean Monnet module coordinated by the Georgian National University SEU. It aims to study, teach, and raise awareness about the main components of the EU Green Deal. The project also focuses on sharing European experiences related to green policy and promoting the development of relevant values in society.

The aim of this summer school is to introduce participants to key legal mechanisms and frameworks driving green transformation, particularly within the context of the European Green Deal. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, visits, and group projects, attendees will explore various aspects of EU law, including environmental, competition, and human rights law, and their practical applications for sustainability.

The summer school will be held from July 22 to July 26, 2024. By special invitation, the following professors will deliver lectures during the summer school:

  • Prof. Dr. Kurt Deketelaere (KU  Leuven)
  • Dr. Irakli Samkharadze (Georgian National University SEU)
  • Dr. Matteo Fermeglia (University of Amsterdam)
  • Tamta Margvelashvili (Georgian National University SEU)
  • Prof. Dr. Anna Phirtskhalashvili (Georgian National University SEU)
  • Dr. Martin Dahl (Lazarski University)
  • Dr. Maka Kardava (Georgian National University SEU)

Summer School is open to students enrolled in bachelor's and master's programs in the faculties of law, economics, business administration, and international relations at higher educational institutions in Georgia.

Interested students should fill in the registration form by June 23, 2024. 

The number of participants is limited to 40, and those who complete the summer school will receive bilingual certificates.

The working languages for the Summer School are Georgian and English.
