The SEU Theatrical Troupe was created on December 1, 2010, at the initiative of SEU students. The troupe is staffed by students of "SEU" who are represented as beginner actors, dancers, singers and amateurs in other arts.
The theatrical troupe of "SEU" premiered on December 27, 2010, with the performance "Christmas Tale". A few months after its debut, troupe presented such serious playwrights as William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" or "R + J". The performance was performed at one of the international student festivals in 2013, in which three students from the SEU were nominated for the best performance of the roles.
At the end of 2011, the troupe performed the show, The Letter of an Unknown Woman’’ based on the novel of the same name by Stefan Zweig.
Later, the troupe took a more serious breakthrough in career advancement and presented the audience with the play "Colorful Mysteries" created by the students of "SEU", which is still considered the most powerful work by students as a musical performance. The SEU Theatrical Troupe is actively involved in student life and always occupies a leading position in student festivals or student days, and is also one of the charitable troupes in Georgia.
In the spring of 2015, the SEU Theater Troupe staged a new play, "Anne Frank's Diary", which was performed at the student festival and as one of the winners travelled to Turkey for a youth theatre festival.
Since the autumn of 2015, due to a large number of students and high demand, SEU Theatre Troupe has been divided into two-part. One group joined SEU Art Projects, while the other group remained independent.
Since the January 2016, the group has been working on three productions and all three are preparing for the theatre tours on abroad, notably in Turkey, in the Czech Republic and in Bulgaria.
SEU Theater Troup is actively collaborating with the active troupes of Georgian Universities and plans to hold a grand theatre festival in the future.
