Study Results

After completing the program, Bachelor should have knowledge in international relations theory and research methods. Should have the ability to study the problem,  solve it, search relevant information and critical approach to the issue. Also, Bachelor should be able to conduct a research project under the supervision of a supervisor.


Knowledge and Understanding

After completing the Bachelor's Program, the student will have a theoretical knowledge of international relations. In particular, the graduate will know:

  • The basic concepts and theories of international relations.
  • Theoretical, conceptual and historical knowledge in international politics and its neighbouring disciplines.
  • Complex representation about contemporary international relations.
  • Political, public, philosophical, historical, legal and economic aspects of international relations.
  • History of discipline development
  • Geopolitical theories and external political orientation of the countries.
  • Important institutions of diplomatic and consular law;
  • Issues of globalization and security problems.
  • Basic principles of international law and its important institutions.
  • The importance and place of Georgia as a small state in the international system.
  • Principles and Standards of Performing Analytical Papers.

 

 

Ability to use knowledge in practice:

After completing the Bachelor’s Program, the graduate should be able to use obtained theoretical knowledge in practice. Finding information, processing and making conclusions by using relevant recourses. Bachelor should be able to conduct a research project under the supervision of a supervisor. In addition, he/she  should have:

  • An ability to orient in theoretical and practical problems of international relations.
  • Make a decision on the basis of current political events and socio-economic situation assessment.
  •   Ability to find, interpret and use tools for identifying and solving problems related to the implementation of foreign policy.
  • Ability to assess the situation in the international processes and to develop their own argumentative point of view of situation assessment.
  •   Ability to manage conflict situations and participate in its solution.
  •   Ability to perform the procedures in the relevant services of public institutions and act on legal means.
  • Ability to participate in debates, understand different opinions and justify their position while analyzing political events.
  •   Ability to develop and realize their capabilities in a competitive environment.

 

Ability to conclude

Graduate of the International Relations Bachelor's Program should be able to:

  • Identify, separate and compare to each other the main problems in international relations.
  • Discuss current political events and trends in a wide range of historical context.
  • Generalize the political events, analysis of concrete facts and their assessment.
  • Evaluate other related fields based on theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Find new information from various sources and make reasonable decisions based on critical analysis.
  • Work on the events to be implemented and describe an action plan;
  • Find local and international databases.
  • Correct diagnostic a received  data as a result of the research;
  • Protect the proposed solution.

 

Communication skills:

Graduate of the Bachelor’s Program should be able to:

  • Participate in group work and group decisions
  • Effectively participate in debates and public discussions.
  • Production of official and business documents in foreign and native languages.
  • Formulate the issue and its submission as in written and verbal form.
  • Make a written and oral presentation of reports, memorandums and reports.
  • Participate in professional negotiations.
  • Conduct negotiations within the framework of diplomatic etiquette.
  • Use modern information and communication technologies.
  • Find and process information based on information banks
  • Demonstrate a reasoned view of international political and global processes.

 

Learning ability

Graduate of the International Relations Bachelor's Program should be able to:

  • Work independently with scientific field specific literature.
  • Work with professional and other sources, study and process of the literature and documents.
  • Development of self-learning on the basis of information and educational technologies;
  • Continuous updating of basic theoretical and methodological knowledge in international relations.
  • Determine the need for evaluation of their own knowledge, further learning and deepening of knowledge independently.

Graduate of the International Relations Bachelor Program should have the following values:

  • Participate in the formation of universal values (religious, ethical, cultural, traditional, equality, etc.) and strive to establish them.
  • Understanding social, state and civil responsibility.
  • Cultural, personal, racial, linguistic, ethnic, religious peculiarities and respect for them.
  • Ability to recognize and protect the ethical and moral norms established in international relations and diplomacy.
  • Respect the fundamental human rights.
  • Ability to determine a reasonable and relevant ratio between the values.
